Bonnie Weber is working hard as your Reno City Council representative.  She is committed to continuing her public service and to bringing her community-centered values to City Hall.  Having lived, worked, and played as a North Valleys resident for over 35 years, Bonnie is uniquely qualified to represent you on the Reno City Council.

And, you already know her!

Bonnie served us on the Washoe County Commission for 12 years.  She worked hard to make tough decisions for our neighborhoods, our county budget, and our precious lands of northern Nevada. Bonnie also served for 9 years on the Stead/North Valleys Neighborhood Advisory Board in the 1990s. Her motto has always been Unity in Community!

You were on her mind.

As your County Commissioner, Bonnie reached out to small business owners, their employees, educators, local officials, and Washoe County taxpayers and families, listening to matters that are important to them. Bonnie worked for the Washoe County School District for 11 years. She believes in access and transparency and enjoys meeting weekly with constituents.  She worked to improve transportation in our neighborhoods, created more accessible community centers for our seniors and families, and was instrumental in bringing a water park for our kids and grandkids to the North Valleys Regional Park, without using taxpayer dollars.

She has you - the taxpayer - on her mind.

Bonnie is a watchdog when it comes to government spending.  She worked diligently with her Washoe County colleagues to balance budgets during the times of economic downturn. As a small business owner in the past, and her husband still a partner in a small business, she took seriously the spending of your hard-earned tax dollars, resulting in a leaner and stronger county government. The Reno Gazette-Journal praised her as being a watchdog of public monies.

These issues are important to Bonnie and you.

Bonnie is familiar with the challenges and issues that face our city and state.   Land use is not only a local issue, but it also impacts our state.  Bonnie partnered with legislative members and national groups to assure Washoe County lands are preserved and remain unspoiled. She will continue to guard our precious resources while respecting our private property rights.

Bonnie’s family lives in the North Valleys.

Bonnie has been married to Mike for more than 38-years, and together they have raised their family here in Reno. She is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Matt, their 26-year-old son, works hard at two full-time jobs. Their daughter Lori, and son-in-law Will, are both graduates of the University of Nevada-Reno and teach in the Washoe County School District as elementary teachers, and their grandchildren attend Washoe County schools.

Bonnie is committed to our community and our state of Nevada!

Experience, fiscal responsibility, a record of achievement with a focus on the future.
